In his wife's [?] own handwriting, Roy's Great Grandmother, Caroline TAYLOR Christopherson, transcribed by Ryan Eyford, caroline writes at Grund P.O. Jan 27th 1884 ;
"I have not heard from Lizzie for a long time. She seemed quite contented then. She took in sewing and had bought a sewing machine. Katie and Carrie [64] were going to school and learning fast they both wrote me. Stanton [65] left Anna [TAYLOR] Ballard] & Everett [Ballard] and they imagine that Carpenter [66] set him up to do so. There does not seem to be the right feeling between them. Janie and Willie are on their land. Still it is pleasant for us to be so near that we can see each other sometimes. Her children are quite intelligent and interesting", [33] Page 15

64 Katie Lapham (1871-?) and Carrie Lapham (1872-1949) were the daughters of Carrie and Susie's sister Lizzie (see note 45 above). , [33]

According to Ryan Eyford Carrie was born (1872-1949)

In the July 13, 1894 issue of the paper, the marriage of George Pratt and Carrie L. Lapham was announced.

Ms. Suzanne Schramski at the Grand Ledge Historical Society, Eaton, Michigan was kind enough to locate, and forward a copy of the obituary for Dr. Geo. Pratt.

"Died September 19th at Nelscott" Resident Portland OR. Optician. Two sons, and two daughters.
Grand Ledge Independant 26 Oct, 1939, Pg 4, Col. 4.. [71]
With this Obit and what has been found and posted here, I am 100% sure we now have a match. All of this should have been under the Research area. Because I felt all the names were related to our Elizabeth Taylor, I posted it all here. Will require re-arranging it all in standard individual pages, as it is hard to keep straight. Family Tree Maker database file is now corrupted. Always something to fix or switch here.

The Grand Ledge Area Historical Society Museum is housed in the Pratt-Shearer Cottage at 118 W. Lincoln Street. Take a look at their Museum on their website http://gdledgehistsoc.org/museum/; "George's father, Byron S. Pratt, built the home and his family lived there. It is a splendid little building. Rev. Pratt was a circuit-rider Methodist minister in the mid-Michigan area."
If you read through the Grand Ledge Area Historical Society Museum Facebook page, scroll down and you'll come to a very nice photo of where George B. Pratt once lived at when he married John Taylor's niece, then moved to Oregon.

George B. Pratt married Carrie L. Lapham, daughter of Lizzie [Elizabeth] M. TAYLOR Lapham
"The Pratt family relocated to the West Coast around the turn of the century. George Pratt continued to practice as an optician in Portland Oregon for many years, and died there in 1939." source Orig. Article no longer there. Ref: HL_WEB_0175_George Pratt_CarrieLapham

Finding George led to finding Carrie's burial place, which has lead to finding image of her birth certificate, which will confirm her fathers name and lead to current cousins.

MIRIAM WESTERENG COLLECTION - COZY COUSINS
Possibly Veiga Visits the Laphams
Cousin Miriam has Veiga Dawe's albums, and graciously allowed me to scan them during the Cousins Toue 2014. Someone took photos of veiga with the Lapham family, and George Pratt. Been processing the thousands of photos from my cousins tour 2014 trip. Decided to start west to east. Meaning Portland, Oregon. 16 photos at their other location. One with George Pratt, and one with Carrie. With son and two daughters in both.

In the Veiga Christopherson album with Black pages, contains a series of photos I believe are Veiga's cousins, Stanton C. Lapham and Elizabeth TAYLOR Lapham-Carpenter two young men, a woman, and a boy.
In the album it is marked in white, "Little White Salmon River" (MAP). Comparing all 16 photos which are mounted page after page, I believe Veiga was down 59 miles east of Portland, visiting Elizabeth's children, which would be her "cozy cousins". That caption is on photo with the three in a hammock. The left boys boot matches the hilltop/look that way photo, and the right boy matches the other except now wearing overalls.

Now to be fair, there is NO way to prove or confirm all this. Only if we find descendants with photos that match. 100% match on George Pratt.

Still, I have done this detective work before which is about 50% of christopherson.net.
OMG! A new discovery. Okay, let me finish above first.

Now there is a large clearing and a house/cabin with a leanto, then a large clearing which is probably to the right. Why taken, maybe cause it is near the forest and lot of land was cleared. So your saying, Cousin, is that all you have.
Nope!
I go to Elizabeths page as they are the only cousins I could think of that lived in Portland. I look up the Little White Salmon River, which is pretty far and remote from Portland, as I knew Elizabeth lived in town.
My guess is one of the boys is same or older than Veiga, and she has two braids, and younger and thinner. Some photos in album marked 1912. Veiga is on a horse with a white lightening mark on horses Point of Shoulder left.
M.W.C._206_SCAN_Stich-M.W.C Lapham retreat?
M.W.C._208d_SCAN
The rest of the photos will eventually be in album in the Protected Area.

I look on this page and found this from above;
"The Sunday Oregonian. (Portland, Ore.) 1881-current, September 16, 1906, Image 9
Rev. s. C. Lapham's Long Tramp. Rev. S. C. Lapham, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, East Side, has been taking his vacatlon'at White Salmon, Wash. where his family remains. With two young men this month he traveled on foot to Mount Rainier and back, and eov-- erea in an iw mues. i ney traveled on foot, following the trails and camping at night where they happened to be. No accident
"

Now all this is speculation, to give more credence, the immediate photo before these are what I believe to be Carrie LAPHAM and George Pratt and family, who lived in same area. Lets compare an old newspaper clipping of George and Veiga's photo (right).

Sadie Married Sheldon F. Sackett

SHELDON F. SACKETT: FLAMBOYANT OREGON JOURNALIST
Joseph R. Sand, M.S. University of Oregon, 1971
Adviser: Roy P. Nelson
Sheldon F. Sackett (1902-68) was an Oregon newspaper editor and publisher who started his newspaper career as a Republican but, from 1936 on, his Coos Bay World consistently supported the Democratic national can- didates editorially, a minority position among newspaper publishers and newspapers. Sackett was considered both a communications genius and a flamboyant eccentric. Sackett's major editorials included his en- dorsements of national candidates, his urging the unionization of bank clerks and a lengthy thesis on establishing a major employee-owned newspaper.

The thesis takes Sackett through his early life, into his most active period of newspapering--the Presidential years of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman- - and then into the period when he leaves Coos Bay, becomes an absentee publisher and makes several attempts to establish a major metro- politan newspaper on the West Coast. Throughout his adult life, Sackett suffered from periodic cycles where he would be overactive and pursue his ideas and business ventures to a point of near emotional and financial bankruptcy. These activities would be followed by the cycles of mental depression. He was a man with high ideals, convictions and the ambition to try new .things. As a newspaper editor in Coos Bay, he wrote clear, emotional and colorful editorials. He adhered to his support of the Democratic Party to the point of being almost arbitrary. Most of his credit for genius in communications came from his business dealings, not his writing, and much of his importance as a journalist was diluted by his flamboyant, eccentric acts.

Father: Dr W T Adams. The Elgin Journal first appeared March 25, 1882, and the last issue appeared Feb. 15, 1883. It was published monthly, with an extra issue in December, 1882. The editorial page bore the name of the Journal Publishing Co., but as a matter of fact, W. T. Adams was the editor and publisher, his reason for issuing the paper being the boosting of the village he loved so well. 1
