GRANTWOOD
Frances passed away here. Frances lived with her nephew, Redacted Hearn, 31

Grantwood is a name used for an a part of town, taken from Grant's Tomb, located on the opposite shore of the river.

"Knox was a real-estate developer, widely known around the area, who had named a section of Cliffside Park 'Grantwood' because of its location directly across the Hudson River from Grant's Tomb."

The opening of the West Shore Railroad and Erie Railroad's Northern Branch in the mid 19th century brought suburbanization to the region, and in Ridgefield, significant industry and manufacturing.[71] Grantwood was an artist's colony established in 1913 by Man Ray, Alfred Kreymborg and Samuel Halpert and became known as the "Others" group of artists.[78][79] The colony consisted of a number of clapboard shacks on a bluff. To this day the names of the streets in this part of the town — Sketch Place, Studio Road and Art Lane — pay homage to Grantwood's history.[80] Kreymborg moved to Ridgefield and launched Others: A Magazine of the New Verse with Skipwith Cannell, Wallace Stevens, and William Carlos Williams in 1915.[81][82] source: wikipedia.org

If your family or know the whereabouts of Frances Taylor's children, please email Roy.

DEC 22, 2014, Roy received a response from Jane Foster, Manager Museum and Archives, Lexington & Addington Archives.
For this page, Grand Aunt Fanny's husband. It states he was from England.
"William James Moore of Loughborough, by Rev. J. Herbert Starr, Oct. 30, 1862" Roy had seen this location before, yet it never came up as a town in England. So William was born in Eng.
Loughborough, Leicestershire, England (MAP)

Quote: "I may have erred many years ago when I copied items from John C. Clark's diary. I can say one thing: Clark certainly copied many of his information from the newspaper, and his notice of John's death was very likely one of them. " [In other words, his Diary could be in error]. Source

This all goes way beyond what Roy was led to believe was in Clark's diary. Roy thought it was one address, no! it is a ton of information, which if correct, could confirm death dates, and the Moore family!
