  2. ALL: • Going forward, Roy's Digifolio (Artwork) and Operations, Personal pages, and Political Rants will be included with the news here, and more prominent in the genealogy section of Christopherson.net. Anybody not interested in Roy's Art, Fast Cars, or my Parodies feel free to skip them.
  3.   •  Doing some searching on Stafholt for Kirsten Olafson, stumbled upon the New Iceland homestead of William Stewart Taylor.
18th 1. PRATT: Ms. Suzanne Schramski at the Grand Ledge Historical Society was kind enough to locate, and forward a copy of the obituary for Dr. Geo. Pratt.
The family is now able to virtually visit the gravesite of Caroline TAYLOR Christopherson's sister, Elizabeth Carpenter in Oregon.

  2. ODDSTAD: • Our cousin, Sandy has new books out, stop by her web page at sandynathan.com.
  3. TAYLOR: • The Census for Anna TAYLOR Ballard, sister of Caroline, daughter of William Stewart Taylor. The Utah Morman archives must have made changes. I do not recall finding records, let alone scanned images this easy.
13th 1. PRATT:
LAPHAM:
• Would you like to meet Caroline TAYLOR Christopherson's nieces husband, Dr. Geo Pratt. Roy just found him. See his photo for yourself.
Also found birth certs. for Elizabeth's children. Now to find current generations.
12th 1. ALL: • Christopherson.net website was down today due to circumstances under my control.
  2. TAYLOR: • Added more research to Taylor RnD page. Maps of two islands.
11th 1. CHRISTOPHERSON: • Dec. 6th, Nonni Jonsson emailed a page with very detailed chart of all the animals Sigurdur owned. Many horses chickens in Argyle 1891.
9th 1. ALL: • Added new Image of the Month here for DECEMBER. This time, 9 days got past me, before updating.
6th 1. TAYLOR: • Ms. Pierce kindly sent an image of the marriage of Richard and Eliza Taylor in 1807. This would prove that officially, she was known as Eliza, not Elizabeth. I am still going over the documents.
  2. ALL: • Conducting a study. Would like anyone who visits this site to send in an email on suggestions they would like to see implemented at this family site.
Hopefully, it is truly unique when compared to other family websites. This webmaster is about to do a complete overhaul of the whole website, including my (Roy) Portfolio, which I coined the term, Digifolio years ago. If you look up the definition, you will see why all now should be called this.
Current Main criteria is:
1. Make the site iPad friendly. This does not mean I will revert to the typical Web 1.0 Blog appearance, opposite, this website will become wider, yet scalable. I am nearing completion of a new navigation, as I know the top one here has limits.

2. The splash page (christopherson.net) will become the cornerstone of the site.

3. That 2014 CSES News becomes filled with news from other than myself. Is there a birthday in the family? Any get-togethers to add to the news here? As one who just deleted his Facebook page, I respect privacy and realize everyone is busy...just surviving. Is there a memory of one who has passed that would let others know what they were like. Example, Caroline considered herself a Scotswoman. Some were unsung heros that lost their life tending to others. If you don't like the new changes, by all means, email me. Normally I refer to myself on purpose in the third person due to one day, hopfully others will continue this site.

4. Would like more family members to submit news on the family, stories or tidbits about family members, and photos that your willing to share online, or in the Protected Area. MANY relatives have shared many photos already, I know more photos are out there. Many cousins do not know their other cousins , sometimes less than 100 miles away. One goal since day one, has been to connect all the cousins together, and that future gens will know Who, What, Where, and When about their other branches.

5. Many photos will be placed into slideshows making viewing easier. FancyBox is one method.

6. The longtime Sigurdur's Saga theme will hopefully develop along more of a Story Telling appearance. While most of the content will not change,
having minimal pages or scrolling is a mandate for this Web 2.0 morph. E-Mail me your suggestions! Join in! This is YOUR family website!

7. Will there be a Family Forum? One was created  before. Also Twitter was integrated, yet nobody followed. It would be possible to create a "closed family forum". Even the best Forums get hit with a ton of spam daily. Any family who has a Facebook page, website, blog, etc., could be added.

8. The identity of Jane Jones in Barbados will be found in 2014. Even if I have to physically go there myself.
Sincerely, Roy Einar Christopherson, Web Master at christopherson.net
5th 1. CRONEY: • Just found Marriage record in UK library for Caroline TAYLOR Croney, married to Samuel.
  2. CRONEY: • MAJOR NEWS: Found Caroline's 1st born son's record; Samuel Taylor Croney. It was said his name was Richard. This will give a whole new search to locate their two children, and eventually our cousins.
  3. CRONEY: • Awesome, just found the 5th Generation of the Croney family! Found Caroline's two granddaughters, Laura, and Miriam.
Just found Samuel Taylor Croney's sister, her name (Drum Roll Please) Name: Caroline Elizabeth Croney. just go to news item link above for more.
3rd 1. ALL: • Nonni Jonsson informed me couple days ago that Halfdan Helgason in Iceland has sold his database to Icelandic Roots in North Dakota. Roy wishes Halfdan a great retirement, and MANY thanks for giving us all access to this database of Icelandic familes.
Quote from Halfdan's db: "The inevitable end of this Genealogy Website is near. It will be closed down Tuesday 3 December 2013. But you are not left in the dark :-) Those who are interested in searching their Icelandic roots and family on the Internet might do it best by accessing the website Icelandic Roots which from now on keeps and maintains the genealogy database and where you will find a wealth of information related to Iceland. To all my friends I have "met" through my website I send my best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Hálfdan Helgason"

Thanks to Kommi, we have the location and a map to pin-point the location. Hang on, it's gonna be a bumpy ride. Added link to photo of Sigurdur, and more research on the Briem family, including all of Halldor's siblings and parents. OMG I found the whole Briem family!
  2. SIGVALDASON: • Article on GGF Arni Sigvaldason and article in Icelandic. Does not look like any new deatils, more of an Obit.
17th 1. GUDNASON: • Emailing cousin Mike Christopherson, might of made a match of a photo of a Siggi Gudnasson. Drop the extra S, Siggi is short for Sigurdur.
  2. CHRISTOPHERSON: • Fixed link to Ted Christopherson Album on the Main Photo page.
15th 1. SIGVALDSON: • Added many family photos to GGF's individual page for Arni Sigvaldson. This will put a face to what was just a name. Arni was one of the first Icelandic Pioneers in Minnesota. They are NOT related to Troy, to my knowledge. Least not back to Arni's parents.
  2. ALL: • Cousin Miriam Westereng and Carol Jarvie gave approval to share their family photos and albums with family, most being in the Protected area.
Your log-in should open any of those Albums up now to view, like the Snaps Album. In time, you will see the family Bios and great old photos on their Individual relative's pages. Both cousins are well.
  3. ALL: • Crammed 8 yrs worth of technology changes into a couple weeks learning new software for the website overhaul, possibly new online business. Preparing the Townhouse for sale is also taking up time. Watched over 100 training videos. Cousin Mike and myself enjoyed the latest Thor movie in 3-D at the local Cinema.
  4. ALL: • The Grund Cemetery Album no longer requires a Log-In. See the Main Photo page.
  5. ALL: • Where possible the ISAD(G) General International Standard Archival Description, 2nd Edition will be applied to the christopherson.net Archives maintained by Roy locally. A digital back-up is maintained, and soon a local off-site copy will be created.
  6. HALLGRIMSSON: • Located Byring Hallgrimsson' siblings have been located through findagrave.com and a forum.

There is one document that is not recognized, as many copies float around the various family from the past 40 years. UPDATE: many original documents which include names of cities in many old stories already online here, Caroline's Will, copy of letter by Sigurdur, and confirmed that Rosa Taylors daughter or G.dau. was Mrs. E.M. Bell of Marin City, Calif, just north of Roy. Staring to scan soon.
  2.
ALL:
• After 8 years, Roy is now using the full line of all of Adobe Software, like PhotoShop and Dreamweaver (creates this website) starting tonight. The process to OVERHAUL this website will commence.
Visitors should not have any interruptions or see change for a week or two. One goal is to streamline all the pages so they load quicker. I liken it to working with a Jr. H.S. football team (no offense), then being handed an NFL team. Visitors here should use current browsers to enjoy all the media.

• Overhauled all of Sigurdur and his siblings Individual pages. Mainly with the great photos brought back from the Grund or Bust trip, which now give, a face to a name, with very nice vintage family photos. Plus I found one sibling (passed away) which stayed back in Iceland, having 7 children. Guess I forgot about her; Kristveig Kristófersdóttir. So you have Hallgrimsson cousins (Hall branch) and Sigvaldason cousins to name a couple! Because all the names were similar, the photos will help. Other tasks will be pages for the Skardals...at some point in time. Start with Kristveig Kristófersdóttir's page and use the new "Photo Bar". Many thanks to our relatives for the copy of photos!

Best to find relations in course of lineage, not pick some historical person and try and find some connection. If one goes back far enough, we are all basically related. 1.3 to 1.8 million years ago, the Hominina. Roy finds the last 500 years of greater interest.

Yet, they still kept the stories to themselves.

CHRISTOPHERSON:
• At any given time projects are on-going for this website. Due to work circumstances, updates will not be very timely. One project is a special volume of Sigurdur's Saga for uncle Bill. Mums the word! One early Vol. was given to Arni Sigvaldson on his branch, and uncle Hank. This will give Bill some interesting reading material while recouperating, also refines the PDF book and re-sharpens Roy's book publishing skills.
23rd 1.
CHRISTOPHERSON:
• Added photo of Crescent Elementary School with John Christopherson's children courtesy of Ed Fader. View at Ytranes page, 3/4 down.
19th 1.
DOWD:
• Have been in contact with the Dowd family, and his sister, Elva! See the RnD Badger page for relationship. So often many, many hours are spent searching for family from book references, or, as in this case, one lead after another via the Internet. Elva visited Pauline while on their honeymoon and even remembers Roy. Badger Clan page needs needs more of it moved to appropriate pages.

:
• Thanks to Nonni Jonsson, added Susan Christopherson's Wedding Invite. Added couple other early ones of her.
19th 1.
GLOBAL:
• Migrating ALL References (original source cited from Books or other websites) to new Reference Page which will cover the entire website. Got that idea from the Ballard family website. Within text, if you click on the Citation number ie. [1], it will take you to the Reference. Just click back button to return. Global means 'our entire family website here'. Taking "our" family website to the next level.
Adding official Citation and Reference marks to all pages done in future, then work backwards. Should have learned that technique 6 years ago.
  2.
CHRISTOPHERSON:
• Adding New reference page just devoted to Ryan Eyford's References, under construction. There are too many great leads to family and news direct from Caroline 'Carrie TAYLOR Christopherson within this document (see JAN 4, 2012, Item #4). The latest bombsheel is they did not only suggest the name of Baldur, Carrie states that Sigurdur is the "Founder of Baldur'. Pending
