Jón Sigurdur Christopherson-1[1, 2] was born in 1877 in Keewatin, Husavick, Northwest Territories, Manitoba [2].

John died in 1949 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada [2, 3, 4]. He married Vala Thordarson Christopherson (Valgerður Jónsdóttir [20], in Iceland would be Jónsdóttir - English: Jon's Daughter) in 1907 in Grund District, Manitoba, Canada, daughter of Jón Þórðarson and Guðrún Jónasdóttir. She was born in 1884 in Glenboro, Manitoba, Canada [5, 6]. She died on 27 Nov 1975 in White Rock, Crescent, British Columbia, Canada [5, 7].
Roy would be more than happy to post anything on John from his family in B.C.
Research: Roy thought that John passed away while visiting his brother, Kjartan in San Francisco.

Information from "Come into our Heritage RM of Argyle 1882-1982" 12.
Jon (John) was born in 1877 at Husavik, Keewatin. He moved with his parents to Argyle three years later. Jon attended Hola School and later went to Winnipeg Business College. Jon farmed at the family home in Grund. In 1907, he married Valgerdur, born in 1884 to John and Gudrun Thordarson of Glenboro. Following their wedding day they took a trip west to visit his parents at Crescent Beach, British Columbia. The mild costal climate of British Columbia attracted them to move to the Crescent area in 1912. By this time three sons had been born to them at the Grund home: Donald, Alvin, and John Sigurdur Jr. Other children followed: a son, Haldor, and three daughters, Caroline, Evelyn, and Kathleen.
Jon's work included farming and construction. Latterly, he helped Vala in the management of a successful pie industry. Sharing interests in political, community and social affairs, John and Vala were a devoted couple to their church and family. They made their home in Vancouver until John passed away in 1949. 12.

Our grandfather was later know as John S. Christopherson. If you look at your list of children of Sigurdur and Carrie you have our grandfather listed as Jon Sigurdur Christopherson and then another son John listed with almost the same birth date. In effect you have listed the same person twice.

John passed away in 1949. Vala moved with Carrie to Crescent and passed away in 1975.
Sharing interested in political, community and social affairs, John and Vala were a devoted couple to their church and family.
Luke and Carrie Humber live in grandfather Sigurdur´s original home at Crescent.
Vala and John´s family have grown to include nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and maintain close traditional family ties.
Age at death: 72 years old
